A landmark commercial street in Montréal for over 100 years, Plaza Saint-Hubert is home to more than 400 businesses stretching between Bellechasse and Jean-Talon streets. Since 1984, it has been easily recognizable to Montréalers for its signature glass canopy covering both sidewalks for several hundred meters. To revitalize this key economic artery, the City of Montréal undertook a complete redevelopment project, including the installation of a new canopy, the widening of sidewalks, the planting of trees, and the development of public squares, all aimed at creating a welcoming, accessible, and safe environment that promotes active transportation. The City also took this opportunity to replace all underground infrastructure.

This project required numerous obstructions and a full street closure, creating significant challenges for maintaining access and supporting local businesses.
