Pedestrianization of Mont-Royal Avenue
By pedestrianizing a section of Mont-Royal Avenue each summer since 2019, the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough aims to create a welcoming, safe, and universally accessible urban living space. As this major commercial artery attracts very high traffic, the challenges surrounding mobility, economic vitality, and social acceptability were considerable.
Intervia was therefore mandated to design and manage the project's impacts. Through a design that combined accessibility, safety, and adapted facilities, we worked with the Borough to develop a unique concept for active clients.
