Special Planning Program for the Future REM Station in Kirkland
Traffic Study: A Prerequisite for Smooth Operations
A traffic study is a prerequisite for a redevelopment project in an urban area. It must take into account all trips made in the targeted area in order to anticipate the mobility and safety challenges and adapt the different phases of the project accordingly.
To ensure the safety, comfort, and fluidity of travel for all modes of transportation in the area, our mobility planning team conducted its study and issued recommendations based on a very specific methodology. These include profiling and characterizing the study area, developing a Vistro model that identifies the various traffic issues, generating and allocating projected traffic flows, analyzing anticipated off-street and on-street parking, and analyzing mitigation measures.
Support from the Town for the Planned Development of the Site
When addressing the subject of traffic, it is important to have a comprehensive view of the project for every stakeholder to integrate the constraints and specificities of each phase of the mandate. Supporting the Town throughout the planned development of the site enabled Intervia to integrate the technical, architectural, economic, and social concerns of stakeholders through a process of reflection, analysis, consultation, and planning.
