New Samuel De Champlain Bridge Corridor
The federal government elected to build a new 3.4 km bridge a few dozen metres from the former Champlain Bridge. The project included construction of the new Samuel De Champlain Bridge; widening Highway 15 from the Atwater Interchange; new ramps to Route 132 and Highway 10; and a new 470 m bridge to Nuns’ Island. The Samuel De Champlain corridor carries more than 130,000 vehicles per day on average and features a centre lane for the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).
Intervia was engaged by the design-build Signature on the Saint Lawrence Construction Consortium to provide maintenance of traffic and impact management.
