At the end of 2024, Saint-Laurent will welcome four stations of the REM, an automated light rail system that will eventually consist of 26 universally accessible stations in Greater Montreal. This new flagship public transit service, offering fast and frequent trips, will unequivocally change the way the population of Montreal and Saint-Laurent travels on the territory. In order to anticipate the pressure on parking that will occur in its borough, Saint-Laurent considered implementing on-street parking stickers reserved for residents (referred to as SRRR, from the French acronym) in the neighbourhoods located around the four REM stations: Côte-de-Liesse, Montpellier, Du Ruisseau and Bois-Franc.

As a result, Saint-Laurent retained the professional services of Intervia to support the stakeholders of the departments concerned in deploying and implementing a citizen consultation process to collect data necessary for final decision-making.
