By the end of 2024, Saint-Laurent will host four REM stations within its territory, an automated light rail system that will ultimately comprise 26 universally accessible stations across Greater Montreal. This new high-frequency rapid transit system will undoubtly change how residents of Montreal and Saint-Laurent travel across the area. To proactively address expected pressure on local parking, Saint-Laurent is considering introducing on-street resident-only permit parking (referred to as SRRR, from the French acronym) in the neighbourhoods surrounding the four REM stations : Côte-de-Liesse, Montpellier, Du Ruisseau and Bois-Franc.

Saint-Laurent has retained Intervia’s professional services to support the relevant municipal teams and stakeholders in designing and delivering a public consultation process to gather the data needed for the final decision-making.
