The City of Montréal manages 10,000 km of underground pipes, including both water and sewer systems. Some of these pipes had been in service for over 100 years. In this context, the City launched a major rehabilitation and upgrade program aimed at repairing or replacing deteriorated infrastructure beneath approximately 700 km of streets.

These works, carried out in a densely urbanized environment, were executed simultaneously by four different contractors. Minimizing traffic impacts was therefore essential. The work required continuous adaptation to nearby construction sites and special events, making flawless coordination and clear communication critical.

The City of Montréal entrusted Intervia to ensure traffic flow throughout the duration of the project.
