Securing the Area Around Schools in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie
The borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie sought to improve safety for vulnerable road users near its schools. To do so, the borough aimed to secure funding from Montréal’s Programme de sécurisation aux abords des écoles (PSAÉ – School Zone Safety Program) to implement its project.
Intervia was therefore mandated to conduct a study to identify and classify school-area safety needs near schools and certain parks across the borough. This four-month mandate consisted of two main phases: the development of a tool to classify schools based on their safety requirements, and the preparation of a funding application to the PSAÉ for a site selected by the borough.
