Rehabilitation of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel
Started in 2020, the major rehabilitation of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel linking Montréal to the South Shore is a project of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable aimed at maintaining and modernizing this essential infrastructure for the transportation of people and goods. A crucial link for mobility throughout Quebec and the metropolitan area, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (LHL) handles about 120,000 vehicles daily, including over 15,000 trucks. It is one of the busiest portions of Highway 25.
Consortium Renouveau La Fontaine therefore mandated Intervia to assist the construction team in maintaining traffic and impacts to ease traffic flow on this major axis while ensuring the safety of users and smooth project operations.
