Building of a New Cultural Infrastructure in Laval
The City of Laval plans to build a new cultural facility within the area covered by the Special urban planning program (PPU) for its downtown core, at the intersection of Jacques-Tétreault Street and Boulevard de l’Avenir. This project will bring together Laval’s future central library and a professional artistic creation centre under one roof. The new building will be located in a vibrant neighboorhood where major travel routes for active transportation, public transit, trucking and cars meet.
To ensure the project’s successful implementation, the City of Laval entrusted Intervia’s mobility planning team with conducting a traffic impact study prior to construction. This study also included integrating the planned redevelopment of the surrounding street network.
