Construction of a New Nemaska Lithium Plant in Bécancour

Nemaska Lithium Inc. wanted to build a new plant along Route 132 in the municipality of Bécancour. This new plant was to be located on lot 9 of the Société du parc industriel et portuaire de Bécancour (SPIPB) located at the southwest corner of the intersection between Route 132 and Louis-Riel Road. This project therefore extended over an area involving three traffic modes: road, rail and maritime.

To know the environmental and social scope of such a project, Hatch mandated Intervia to conduct a traffic impact study on the three aspects mentioned above. These components were studied based on three scenarios: the current situation, the construction phase, and the operations phase.
